Come and join Saturn Running for our annual GNR & Time Turner event 2026 - whether you're looking to get some miles under your belt before The Great North Run or you just fancy a run along the beautiful River Wear, then this is the event for you! Date & time: Sunday 30th of August 2026 Official start time: 9.30am Location: Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU Distance & Time This is a 7 hour Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a full lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7 hour time limit. Please note, we may use the 3.28 mile course at this venue and we will advise closer to the time. Course The course is along a beautiful stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. All abilities are welcome at our super-inclusive events and we also welcome walkers too. Medals & Pins As long as you complete one lap, you will be an official finisher and you will receive one of our fantastic themed medals! We also have distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are our Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement. Goody Bag Absolutely! You earned the calories after all, so all our finishers get a goody bag. As well as our standard goody bag, with a selection of various goodies to choose from, we also have a fabulous vegan goody bag for our vegan runners. Aid Table We have a fantastic aid table and drinks table at the start / finish of each lap. There is an incredible selection of drinks and savoury or sweet snacks such as crisps, cheese, fruit and cookies with vegan options also available. Special Event If our event is a special event for you, for instance your 50th, 99th, 100th, 150th, 200th, 250th etc. marathon or half marathon then please let us know. We will provide you with a great number with your name and the event date on it. Also, if it is your birthday, again let us know and we will get you a special number for your birthday! Venue Facilities Toilets and changing facilities are available at the race HQ. Bag drop is near the start and finish area. Runners should be aware the bag drop is not staffed and items are left at the sole responsibility of the participant. No liability for lost items will be accepted by the Organiser. Car Parking There is nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking. Race Day Instructions & Number Pick Up Final race day instructions will be sent out via email 7-10 days prior to the event with full race day information. Number pick up is on the day at race registration before the start of the event. Other Information There will be somewhere to leave a bag at the start / finish area. However, this is not a secure bag and the items cannot be watched at all times so please do not leave anything valuable. Headphones are allowed. Our running events are held on public footpaths so we would be grateful if all runners were considerate of other path users.

We all love to be beside the seaside so why not enjoy a trail run from the coast at Hornsea in East Yorkshire. You can grab yourself fish and chips and an ice cream from the front after the race. This race follows an out and back route along the scenic Trans Pennine Trail with a variety of distances to choose from. Headphones: Most of our courses are off road but we still prefer you not to wear earphones and due to oncourse incidents, we have taken the decision to ask you not to wear large over ear headphones. These block out any other sounds and don't allow runners to hear marshals, vehicles or other users of the route. If you do need to wear earphones, then please use bone conducting earphones or "one in one out" in ear pieces. Please note, there may will be unmarshalled road crossings. Transfers/Deferrals: You can self-serve your transfer or deferral either on this website or “Let’s Do This” depending on where you booked. Freddie Mercury famously adored cats and was a proud parent to 10 feline companions. He even wrote the song Delilah for one of them on Queen's Innuendo album and dedicated his solo album Mr. Bad Guy to his beloved cats. This event is our tribute to Freddie's legendary music, personality, and love of all things feline. About Alexandra Park Dating back to the 1860s, this stunning green space in North Manchester offers a challenging yet rewarding course that will test both your legs and your lungs. Trail running at its best in the Shropshire Hills Choice of Half Marathon or Marathon distance The weekend of the 7th September will see the return of one of the most epic half and full trail marathons to hit Shropshire, with runners tackling 13.1 or 26.2 miles on the beautiful Shropshire Hills and The Long Mynd. This is a single lap marathon so no loops or out and backs. The route covers a National Trust haven and the start and finish will be in Carding Mill Valley near the National Trust tea rooms. The course will be fully marked but runners should carry a map of the area. Runners will also be expected to carry a rucksack and a minimum of 500ml of water and a basic 1st aid kit. The race will start at 9am, and there will be a cut off of 7 hours for the full marathon. You must complete your first lap by 12.30PM to go out on a 2nd lap. Carding Mill Valley is just a stone’s throw from the beautiful town of Church Stretton which has a train station within a mile of the start. A very popular Marathon and Half Marathon back offering you everything North Hampshire has to offer. Thigh burning climbs with a maximum elevation of 280 m. Long fast down hill sections taking in the views of the beautiful meadows and valleys. This event also has the Military cup. An oportunity for military units to compete for the silverware. Open to serving military personel only. Enter a team of 4 runners max per team from your unit (As many teams as you want.). Marathon. 26.2 miles following the Testway up to Coombe Gibbet, the highest point in Hampshire then following the stunning tracks back to Enham through the beautiful Conholt estate and picturesque villages. Half Marathon. 13.1 mile loop following the Testway up to Hurstbourne Tarrant, then follow the stunning tracks back down to Enham. The team will be out the day before fully marking the course.
