On Friday, November 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, participants will have the unique opportunity to take on as many 5km laps as they can complete in this exciting challenge. Whether you're an individual runner or part of a dynamic team of three, this event promises a night of fun, camaraderie, and competition. The course begins at Peaslake Village Hall and features a gentle ascent towards Pitch Hill before a thrilling downhill return. Remember to bring your head torch to light the way as you navigate this beautiful trail! With a registration fee of £20 for individuals and £50 for teams, you'll enjoy refreshments and the chance to win fantastic prizes for the top finishers in both men's and women's categories, as well as for the winning team. We’re excited to bring you the first of our STAR Backyard Trail Events, starting in the lovely village of Peaslake. This is the first of three events, with Holmbury St. Mary and Shere following soon (dates to be confirmed). How It Works: The event runs for 3 hours from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. You’ll aim to complete as many 5km laps as you can in that time. No chip timing—just a race number to wear and a wristband for every lap you complete. NEW THIS YEAR - Team Event: Enter as a team of three, each individual runs one loop then passes the baton (or similar) onto the next individual. Each runner must stay in their turn and the winning team will be decided by the amount of laps or in the case where teams have completed the same number of laps, it will be decided on the team with the quicker time. The Course: Starting at Peaslake Village Hall, the route heads clockwise through the Walking Bottom Car Park, followed by a gentle 2km ascent up towards Pitch Hill. After that, it’s mostly downhill back to the start to mark off your lap. Heads Up: This is a head torch event, so be sure to bring one to light your way.
