You'll head up over the Stirling Castle with views over the River Forth, past Kier Estate where the SAS founder Sir David Stirling once lived, through the market village of Bridge of Allan rising to Cockburn Reservoir and into the Ochil Hills. Before going up to the imposing Stirling castle with views over the River Forth, past Keir Estate where the SAS founder Sir David Stirling once lived, through the market village of Bridge of Allan rising to Cockburn Reservoir. You will then return via the iconic Wallace Monument, Cambuskenneth Abbey and the riverside path. It will be an unforgettable journey! BRAVEHEART (10KM) A flat, out and back, route starting in view of Wallace Monument and under the shadows of the Ochil Hills. The route takes you alongside the River Forth where you will traverse over the Stirling Old Bridge – rebuilt many times after fierce battles it is best-known for the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297 where Sir William Wallace and Andrew Moray defeated English forces.
