Steam Challenge

Get ready for an exhilarating day of running and camaraderie at the Steam Challenge, hosted by Running Events Devon! This exciting event takes place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the beautiful town of Okehampton, Devon. Participants can enjoy a scenic 5.3 km out-and-back route along a charming old disused train line, perfect for runners and walkers of all abilities. With the unique 'TUGG' system—Turn Up Get Going—you can arrive anytime between 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM, and you have a generous 7 hours to complete as many laps as you can, with a hard finish time of 3:30 PM. Whether you aim to conquer 1 lap or challenge yourself with up to 14, everyone is a winner and will receive a coveted medal for their achievement! Places are limited, so be sure to secure your spot early to guarantee your participation in this fantastic event. If capacity is reached, latecomers will still receive a bespoke medal of their choice from the selection available on the day. Running Events Devon would like to invite you to come and run with us.                                  At our new venue, the Steam Challenge event is being held on the Sunday 30th August 2026  We are operating our 'TUGG' system as in Turn Up Get Going, you can turn up any time between 7:30 and 14:30 BUT you have to be finished by 15:30.                 Absolutely all abilities of runners / walkers can take part in our events as you have 7 hours to get to the finish of your final lap, each lap is 5.3k out and back, of our scenic route on an old disused train line.                         Everyone is welcome whether you are planning to walk or run, whether you finish 1 lap, 4 laps or even 14 laps in the permitted time, we would class you as finisher and a winner, and you can collect your Medal for the event.                                  Please come and have a try and see how far you can go.                                  Places are strictly limited so please do not leave it too late to enter, if and when we reach capacity anyone entering after, will get a bespoke medal of their choice of the ones that we have with us on that day.
