It is also perfect preparation event if you are running a late autumn marathon like New York (4 week before), Valencia (9 weeks before) or Florence (7 weeks before) or you just want the challenge of completing a half marathon. The course
Starting in the famous Ancient Market Place, runners will then cover 5 miles through the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames before crossing over Kingston Bridge and heading up the iconic three mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames. The race then reaches the magnificent Hampton Court Palace before continuing through Thames Ditton and back towards Kingston for the famous Market Place finish.

When is the Kingston Half 2026?
Sunday 4th October 8:30am start.
Can I get a refund or defer?
Race entries are NOT TRANSFERABLE and NON-DEFERABLE. We do not permit a change of race number. A full refund will only be offered within 14 days of payment. After this there will be NO REFUNDS, DEFERRALS TO NEXT YEAR OR TRANSFERS TO ANOTHER RUNNER.
Where will the water stations be?
At 5 miles, 8.6 miles, 11 miles and at the finish. Course toilets are also located at 5, 8.6 mile water stations.
Is there a cut off time?
For the half there is a 3.5 hour cut of time due to marshals volunteering. Anyone outside 3 hours 30mins will have to move onto the pavements to complete the route.
Can I run with headphones?
Sadly no in-ear headphones are allowed. Runbritain rules, not ours. However, you can use bone conduction headphones.
Where do I collect my race number?
You can collect your race pack on race morning from registration tents in Kingston Market Place. Or from local shops 10days before the event. Details of these shops will be announced nearer the date.
Where can I leave my bag?
Our friendly baggage team will be waiting for you to collect your baggage in the Kingston Market Place. Please provide your own bag.
Is the race chip timed?
Yes, your timing chips will be on the back of your bib.
What is the terrain like?
The course is a mixture of road and riverside path Please expect to run on flat path, road and gravel. The course is flat as a pancake. All courses have been measured by Olympic Games measurer Hugh Jones on behalf Association of UK Course Measurers Our event is ran under Run England rules.
Is the race road closed?
No. The roads will be open and marshalled by traffic management company and volunteers.
Can I enter the race and raise money for a charity that is not the official charity?
Yes, you can run for any cause of your choice. Once you have your place you can contact that charity direct or create a JustGiving page and start fundraising.
Can I run with a pram?
Sadly not. This event is not a fully road closed event so it is not suitable.
