Starting at 6:30 PM, this vibrant event invites runners of all levels to challenge themselves on a picturesque route surrounded by beautiful parkland. Whether you’re sprinting the 5k to catch the sunset or tackling the 10k or 10-mile distance for an extra challenge, you'll experience a chip-timed race that is both fun and competitive. Each course will be clearly marked, and friendly volunteers will be there to cheer you on. Plus, every finisher will receive a unique themed medal to commemorate their achievement. JOIN US FOR THE NEXT CHASE THE SUN 5K,10K & 10 MILE AT HEATON PARK ON WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST 2026! Come and join us for the Chase The Sun 5k, 10k & 10 mile in Heaton Park on Wednesday 12th August 2026, starting at 6:30pm. This large park, just north of Manchester and home to a Grade 1 listed neoclassical 18th century house, is the perfect setting for a fun and frantic day out. Running on the paths within Heaton Park, this race is a great opportunity for a chip timed personal best. There will be refreshments and a fantastic themed Heaton Park medal. Battle to get around the course to the finish line before the sun goes down – play it safe and fly round the 5k to finish before sunset or go for the extra challenge of the 10k or 10 mile. 10 mile – 6:30pm 10k – 7:00pm 5k- 7:10pm Each kilometre will be accurately marked out and we have plenty of helpers to keep you quite literally on track and encourage you on your way to that finish line.
