FAQs

Can I wear headphones?

We strongly recommend running without headphones so you can stay aware, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the stunning surroundings. If you really can’t go without music, only bone-conducting headphones are permitted. Over-ear and in-ear headphones are not allowed. Safety first, always.

Are refreshments available?

Absolutely. We’ve got a great selection of hot and cold drinks, plus homemade cakes from the pavilion.

What is the terrain like?

This is a proper multi-terrain challenge: private lanes, gravel tracks, bridleways, and footpaths, all set in the beautiful South Downs National Park. It’s varied, scenic, and keeps you on your toes.

What type of running shoes should I wear?

Go with what you’re comfortable in. In dry conditions, a light trail shoe works well. If it’s wet or muddy, you’ll want something with a bit more grip.

How challenging is the course?

It’s hilly, it’s technical in places, and yes, it will test you. But it’s absolutely achievable for runners of all abilities who come prepared. Most runners call it tough but rewarding… and then come back for more.

What's the time limit?

Entrants should be capable of completing the ten mile course in a maximum of 2 hours 30 minutes. Runners behind schedule at the 2nd water station (6.5 miles) may be asked to withdraw and be taken back to the finish by car.
