Zig Zag Marathon and Half

Get ready for an exhilarating running experience at the Zig Zag Marathon and Half Marathon, organized by Zig Zag Running! Join us on Sunday, May 9, 2027, at the scenic Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX, for a day full of energy and excitement. Runners will have the opportunity to tackle either the full marathon or the half marathon, with both routes offering beautiful scenery and a mildly undulating terrain. The marathon features the Kirtling Route, an officially measured course, while the half marathon will take you along the delightful Windmill Route. With a mass start at 9 AM and a generous seven-hour cut-off time, participants will enjoy well-stocked aid stations every 10 kilometers, ensuring hydration and nutrition along the way. Plus, all entrants will receive a bespoke medal upon finishing, with the option to select a lucky dip finisher medal, if available. Please note that this event is cupless, so bring your own hydration bottles or cups. The Zig Zag Marathon & Half Marathon Come and join us at our exclusive venue at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX It's a seven-hour cut off with a mass start at 9am.  We will be utilizing the Kirtling Route. The Kirtling Marathon route is is an officially measured route, which is fully on road, mildly undulating and very scenic,  The half marathon will also be one loop and we will be using the Windmill Route http://coursemeasurement.org.uk/detail.php?area=South&no=2018527 There will be an aid station of drinks and nibbles every 10k. Parking is also included in your entry price.   The Race HQ/Base Camp is located at the start and Lap point and at the base camp we will have our water/aid station. We have designed a Bespoke medal for the event, which you will receive at the end of the race.   Or if you choose the lucky dip finisher option (if available), you will choose from a selection of previous or finisher medal. This route is all road, they are quiet roads however, you will need to be aware of traffic when stepping out and ideally wear something bright  This event is ideal for runners who want to get a marathon GFA place. Please note the event has gone cupless - so please bring your own bottles or cups for refilling. Please note ONLY bone conductor headphones are allowed!
