About this event

Join this stunning guided trail run around the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead, Surrey. The Devil's Punchbowl is unique, a natural amphitheatre and beauty spot. Legend has it that the devil spent his time tormenting the god Thor by pelting him with enormous handfuls of earth, leaving the great bowl that visitors can see today. In reality, this area offers fantastic running along some stunning trails. This 10km is designed to be fun but tough, we will enjoy some fantastic trails and lots of lovely hills. The good news is that we will pause at the top to enjoy the spectacular views. You can take the hills at your own pace and we will encourage each other. This run is perfect for people new to trail running, runners who simply like to run with like minded people, or those that haven't felt comfortable running trails alone at dusk or night. 🌅 Sunset runs occur during the lighter, warmer months and offer stunning running at dusk, with blissful temperatures and fantastic views, the perfect end to any day. 🌌 Night runs occur during the darker, colder months and offer the unique experience of running trails at night by headtorch, in a safe group environment. Pace: This is not a race, we’ll run as a group and enjoy the experience together. We often hike steeper climbs and regroup regularly, but you should be comfortable maintaining an average pace of around 10 min/mile (6:15 min/km) on trails for prolonged periods of time to enjoy this event. Faster runners should expect an easier, more social pace at times. Kit: A full kit list will be provided. Torches: Running Adventures are proud to partner with Silva and have a range of Silva torches for you to trial on the run. Getting there: Parking is available. Full details will be provided. Info: We will be in touch with further detailed information and instructions a few days before the run, if you haven't heard from us, please get in contact. FREE BEER: Running Adventures have partnered with the wonderful Athletic Brewing Company, one of the most delicious alcohol free beers around. You can expect to receive a lush beer (subject to availability) at the end of the run to either enjoy with your new found running pals, or take home to have another time.
