Getting there

By Car: Drive to the causeway, which is about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Beal, Northumberland. From the A1 road, follow signs to Holy Island and the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. Cross the causeway during safe tide times. Train: The nearest train station is Berwick-upon-Tweed. From there, you can take a taxi to the island (around 20 miles or 32 km). Bus: Some bus services run to Beal from Berwick-upon-Tweed, but be sure to check the timetable and coordinate with the safe crossing times.
