The course
There are TWO starting lanes. Marathon runners line up facing South looking towards Blackpool Tower. Half Marathon runners line up facing North with their backs to Blackpool Tower. You must ensure you are in the correct lane, this is your responsibility. Marathon & Half Marathon Split Point - Just after the 13 Mile point in the marathon, the two events split. You need to be in the correct coned lane (marathon to the left for lap 2, and half marathon and finish to the right). It will all be clearly signed and marshalled, but please be aware it is ultimately up to you to go the correct way. The marathon and half marathon are marked out with mile markers. The 10k and 5k are marked out with KM markers.
Getting there
Directions to the event in Blackpool By Car: From the M55: Follow the M55 motorway towards Blackpool. At the end of the M55, continue onto the A5230. Follow signs for the A583 towards Blackpool town center. Continue on A583 and turn right onto A584, following signs for the North Pier. Parking: There are several car parks near the North Pier. The nearest ones are Talbot Road Multi-Storey Car Park and Central Car Park. By Train: Blackpool North Station: Upon arriving at Blackpool North train station, exit the station and head west on High Street towards the Promenade. Turn left onto the Promenade and walk south for approximately 10 minutes. The North Pier will be on your right. By Bus: Blackpool Transport: Various buses run to the Blackpool town center. Get off at the main bus stops near Talbot Road or Abingdon Street and walk towards the Promenade. The North Pier is a short walk from these stops. By Foot: From the Blackpool Tower: If you are at the Blackpool Tower, walk north along the Promenade for about 5 minutes. The North Pier is located just north of the tower on the seafront walkway. Event Location: The event is slightly north of the North Pier on the seafront walkway. After reaching the North Pier, walk a bit further north along the Promenade, and you will find the event location.
